Gibbs Opens Another Die Casting Plant

Gibbs has officially opened the doors of our new Federal die casting plant.  Interestingly, this is the 2^nd time around for Federal which originally launched after winning a contract from the Federal government in the mid 60’s.  It was closed in 2007 during an economic down turn.

The reason for the re-birth of Federal is to expand Gibbs’ ability to competitively meet more of our customers’ needs.  100% of Federal’s focus will be horizontal die casting which is a sharp contrast to our well-known vertical die casting expertise.  Why?  Both vertical and horizontal processes have different competitive advantages.  Having strengths in both processes means Gibbs will be a competitive supplier on even more of our customers’ programs.
