Gibbs is excited to announce the launch of our new Job Shadowing program for team members starting in July. This initiative is spearheaded by Team Gibbs, our internal women’s network, which continuously seeks innovative ways to enhance work life for all team members.
The Job Shadowing program is the brainchild of Ashley Chenevert, an IT Programmer & Analyst at Gibbs. Ashley envisioned this program to foster better communication and understanding across different departments and roles. She collaborated closely with Human Resources – special thanks to Maggie Whitledge for the hours of work on the details — and Gibbs leadership to bring this idea to fruition.
The goal of the Job Shadowing program is to bridge gaps between departments by enhancing communication and appreciation among team members. By understanding each other’s roles and responsibilities better, cross functional teams will be able to better understand each other’s roles and responsibilities.
Here are the key details of the program:
Greg Risch highlights the program’s benefits: “This will create a better appreciation for what other departments do, increase communication, and improve appreciation among team members. It will allow team members to know how to work better with each other or possibly even open doors for team members who want to move into a new role at Gibbs.”
Ashley Chenevert adds, “It will give people an opportunity to try out different roles that interest them without making a commitment of making a major job change.”
